Taming the Tides is a collection of Dilip Mohapatra's new and selected poems which though rooted to his intensely individualistic mind-scape , are resonant with human emotions, confirmations and contradictions, hopes and aspirations; at times with a sprinkling of humour while at times seriously contemplative. The Anthology contains fifty of his new poems and fifty older poems that have been published in reputed literary journals worldwide.

Dilip Mohapatra (b.1950), a decorated Navy Veteran started writing poems since the seventies . His poems have appeared in many literary journals of repute and anthologies in the English speaking world. Some of his poems have appearedin the World Poetry Yearbook, 2013 and 2014 Editions. He has four poetry collections to his credit, ‘A Pinch of Sun & other poems’, ‘Different Shades’, 'Another Look' and ‘Flow Infinite’, all published by Authorspress India. His non-fiction book titled P2P nee Points to Ponder is a departure from his poetic passion and is a collection of his musings on various managerial, social and life issues. He holds two masters degrees, in Physics and in Management Studies.
